Dairy-Free Pull-Apart Christmas Tree
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cans vegan refrigerated biscuit dough (with 8 biscuits each)
- All-purpose flour as needed for dusting the rolling pin and rolling surface
- 2 bags Follow Your Heart Dairy-Free Mozzarella Shreds, divided
- 2-3 tbsp plant-based cream
- 3-4 tbsp Follow Your Heart Dairy-Free Grated Parmesan, divided
- 6 tbsp vegan butter, melted
- ¼ tsp kosher salt (omit if using salted vegan butter)
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
- 1 tbsp minced fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 tbsp minced fresh rosemary (optional)
- Parsley, rosemary for garnish
- Marinara sauce for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat oven to 350°F. Line 18×14-inch cookie sheet with parchment paper. Separate each can of dough into 8 biscuits. Separate each biscuit into 2 layers for a total of 32 biscuit rounds. Flatten each biscuit round into circles. Use flour as needed to help prevent the biscuit dough from sticking to the rolling pin.
- Place a small handful of dairy-free mozzarella shreds in the center of each biscuit round. Fold the edges up and around the cheese, then pinch firmly to seal. Arrange rolls into the shape of a Christmas tree on the prepared baking sheet. Start with the “trunk,” which will consist of 2 rows of two rolls stacked on top of each other. Then, add a row of 7 rolls in a single line. As you build upward, decrease by one roll for each row, ending with one at the top for the “star” of the tree.
- Brush plant-based cream on top of biscuits, then top them with some of the dairy-free grated parmesan, and any remaining dairy-free mozzarella shreds. Bake 29 to 33 minutes or until golden brown and biscuits are fully cooked through.
- During the last 10 minutes of the rolls baking, melt vegan butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add garlic and chopped rosemary with a good pinch of salt, and turn the heat to low. Stir constantly to prevent the garlic from burning.
- Cook gently until the garlic is golden-brown and fragrant, 4–5 minutes. Remove from heat immediately and set aside.
- When the rolls come out of the oven, brush them with the garlic butter sauce and top with more Follow Your Heart Dairy-Free Grated Parmesan. Serve with your favorite marinara or pizza sauce and dig in!
- These rolls are best enjoyed hot and fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave at 50% power for 1–2 minutes. To reheat in the oven or air fryer, preheat to 325°F and bake until warmed through: 5–7 minutes in the air fryer or 10–12 minutes in the oven.
