Banana Bread w/ Cream Cheese Frosting


  • 2 ¼ cups of flour
  • ¾ cups of sugar
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • ½ tsp of baking powder
  • 2 tbsp of ground flax + 6 tbsp of water
  • ½ tsp of cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • 1/3 cup vegan butter, melted
  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 tsp of vanilla
  • ½ cup plant milk
  • 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup vegan chocolate chips

Cream Cheese Frosting


  1. Mix together the ground flax and water and set aside to thicken
  2. Mix the flour, salt, sugar, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder and chocolate chips for your dry ingredients
  3. Mash the bananas well and add them to the melted butter, vanilla, plant milk, and flax egg
  4. Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients and mix together gently. If the batter is very dry add a tbsp at a time of plant milk as needed until it’s pourable
  5. Pour the batter into a loaf pan lined with a piece of parchment paper that is long enough to come up over both sides of the pan. This will allow for easy removal
  6. Bake at 350°F for 55- 60 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean
  7. Make the cream cheese frosting by sifting the powdered sugar into the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla. Use a hand mixer to mix until smooth and creamy.
  8. Allow the banana bread to completely cool before frosting
