Vegan Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast

  • 6 slices thick, sourdough bread
  • 4 level tbsp VeganEgg powder
  • 1 cup ic- cold non-dairy milk (we used unsweetened almond milk)
  • 6 tbsp Vegan Gourmet Cream Cheese
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • non-dairy margarine/butter
  • sliced strawberries (optional)
  • powdered sugar (optional)
  • maple syrup (optional, but necessary)


  1. In a medium sized bowl, mash cream cheese until smooth with sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt, adjusting to taste
  2. Spread one-third of cream cheese mixture over 3 slices of bread, top with un-spread slices to form sandwiches
  3. Mix VeganEgg powder with non-dairy milk and whisk vigorously until no lumps are left
  4. Dip and soak each sandwich in VeganEgg batter, flipping so both sides of sandwich get soaked
  5. Heat margarine in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot and add sandwiches
  6. Reduce heat slightly and fry for about 8 minutes on one side, flip and repeat to other side, or until both sides are golden
  7. Top with strawberries, powdered sugar, and/or maple syrup and serve!
